DAY 5 - Club Med Surges Forward

6th	Team Legato (421 nm from leader, 69 miles from Gibraltar)

PlayStation has left Gibraltar, after her 48 hour penalty.

Warta Polpharma was in Gibraltar for 5 hours to repair their Inmarsat B antenna, and left at 1:15 PM. There was no penalty.

Team Legato is also heading into Gibraltar to repair a faulty headboard car that caused their mainsail to come down. They will suffer a 48 hour penalty.

The Ollier fleet is now approaching the Canaries (Club Med, Team Adventure, Innovation Explorer), Innovation Explorer with the fastest speed of the day, 14.3 knots). Conditions are still very light.

The teams are finding their groove of living aboard for 2 months on these maxi-cats. Health is a critical concern, cooking is a restricted effort.

On Club Med, Franck Guillermo's twisted ankle is healing well, with the help of Alexis, who's doctoring is making a difference. The twist occured the day before yesterday on the forward tramp when going to clear some lines for the spinnaker, the painful result was some pulled ligaments. Going on the forward tramp is a risky affair with the blowing wind and the waves. Franck is still pulling watches, but not going out on the forward tramp!

Some antibiotics are circulating on the boat: Grant has a sore throat, Nico has a cold, but Alexis magic pills are doing the trick.

Club Med's routine meal of what looks like gruel has become the norm for now, but the team has started fantasizing about the salmon dinner that Alexis cooked on Christmas Eve.
