Introducing Team Adventure's On The Water Team
Cam Lewis: Skipper (USA)
Winner of the Rolex Yachtsman of the Year
Cam raced aboard the maxi-catamaran Commodore Explorer in 1993 when it won the first Trophée Jules Verne for the world's fastest circumnavigation
Cam holds the westbound Transatlantic record with Laurent Bourgnon on Primagaz
He has won numerous World Championships and other titles including the America's Cup in 1988 aboard Dennis Conner's Stars & Stripes
Cam Lewis has teamed up with Randy Smyth in beach catamaran racing, notably to this writer, where we raced against this team in the 1999 Steeplechase (a long distance race held every year in Key Largo), Cam Lewis crewed for Randy Smyth on a CFR20 (the CFR20 was a prototype all carbon high performance two-person uni-rig 20 foot catamaran).
Larry Rosenfeld: Co-Navigator
In the '70s, Larry was Research Director for Hood Sailmakers, designing sails and sailcloth (including the first Mylar sailcloth) for the America's Cup defenses of 1974-1980.
Jean-Yves Bernot, Co-Navigator/Crew Member (France)
Jean-Yves is a very famous navigator, he has won numerous multihull championships and helped dozens of teams win with his weather routing expertise. His name comes up repeatedly in french publications on sailing, the french consider him a god of navigation and weather
He has set the Trans-atlantic record 5 times including the most recent record on Mari-Cha V in 1998
Jacques Vincent, Watch Captain/Crew Member
Jacques was a crew member with Cam on board Explorer during the Trophée Jules Verne in 1993. He is a champion multihull sailor on the Grand Prix circuit and has competed in three Whitbread round the world programs.
Lionel Lemonchois, Crew Member (France)
Lionel has been racing for the past twenty years. He is one of France's most experienced sailors having worked with leading racers such as Isabelle Autissier. Lionel has raced three mini-transats, always finishing top ten.
Randy Smyth, Sail Coordinator/Crew Member (USA)
Randy is the best known beach catamaran sailor in America today. He has won two Olympic medals, 50 world and national championships and sailed with Cam on Stars and Stripes, the 1988 catamaran defender of the America's Cup. Randy is the owner of The Smyth Team, designers and consultants on sails for multihulls of all sizes.
Frederic Carrere, Crew Member
Frederic has logged over 50,000 miles of blue water sailing. He was on board Explorer with Cam and Bruno Peyron on the transatlantic attempt in 1999. He has raced in the US and Europe on Matador, Class Boats and Lasers and crewed in the Maxi-boat world Championship in the mid-80s.
Philippe Peche, Crew Member/Sailmaker
Philippe has been racing sailboats since the age of 10. He has worked as crew, foredeck man and sail trimmer in many races including 2 America's Cups, 3 Admiral's Cups, SORC, Fastnet and Sydney-Hobart. He also worked for North Sails and Technique Voile Mediterranee for many years doing many things from Sailmaker to Sales Manager.

Yann Elies, Crew Member (France)
Yann is a French Champion of the Figaro race
Halvard Mabire, Construction Manager/Crew Member (France)
Halvard works on the technical side of Team Adventure with Project Manager, Peter Grubb to organize the French side of the project. He manages the technical coordination between each supplier, the design team and yards, setting up a crew for the first sea trial and preparing the boat to be ready to sail. Halvard's background is as a navigator and skipper in many races including navigator at 1999 Maxi One Design worlds for New Zealand Team, mainsail trimmer 1995 America's Cup. He has also worked as the architect and construction manager on many other boat projects.
Cool Bio Tidbits
Randy Smyth and Cam Lewis are famous for their part in the movie: The Thomas Crown Affair, starring Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo. The scene was a race between two 40 foot catamarans, Pierce Brosnan was on a rack, Cam Lewis and Randy Smyth can be seen in the footage, grinding winches and driving the boat.
Randy Smyth was the person controlling the boat in the movie: Waterworld that starred Kevin Kostner
