Club Med, 'the Untouchables' - The winners
Club Med finished at 7:56 and 33 seconds PM GMT, with a race time of 62 days, 6 hours and 56 minutes and an average speed of approximately 18 knots.
Upon Club Med's arrival at the Vieux Port in Marseille.
Dalton: "We hadn't even stopped to consider too much what it would be like the past 24 hours were pretty tough. We had a bad night last night with a lot of wind it was only today that I started to think that this was ours and we we're going to have this victory!"
"Suddenly out of the night we came, doing 25 knots, boats scattering everywhere and that was just the start of it. And all these people here now. It's perfect Saturday night all the crowds on the dock. I didn't know what to expect I never expected the response we have had tonight, it has been unbelievable.
"We're all humbled by everyone turning out to see us we had no idea there was so much interest. We absolutely can't believe it."
"Winning a race like this is never easy. But somehow it's always easier afterwards. We sailed a very controlled race. We weren't really pushed that hard so it's hard to judge but there were times when it was easy, times when it was really tough. In general it was fantastic event. We're going to savour tonight. We've done what we set out to do."
"Loick Peyron and his boys on Innovation Explorer have done a fantastic job they have chased us hard and they pushed us all the way - full credit to them as well."
"The crew has done a great job. Sixty-two days at sea is a long time whether they ever want to sail with me again is another story! We brought this international mix together and it's worked. We've all learnt a lot about each other including how to sail these boats - and I think they've all benefited from the experience and I know they will savour it as well."
From the 11 AM official press conference:
Dalton: "62 days can be beaten. If we had been pushed faster we could have gone faster. Loick Peyron and Innovation pushed us all the way. Cam Lewis had us very worried in the Atlantic. It can be done faster and better, and it will be done faster and better."
"I think when we entered the Southern Ocean we had 140 miles on Team Adventure. One of us had to crash as we were pushing so hard. Close races are for the press, but on board you don't want close races. Our plan was to be the pursued not the pursuer".
Official dockside inspection by Race director, David Adams:
Innovation Explorer, 'the Hunters' - Salutes Club Med's Performance
As Club Med finished The Race Innovation Explorer were about 70 miles from the entrance of the Straits of Gibralter. They passed through the Strait of Gibraltar at 05:00 am GMT, in a settled 25-30 knot southwest wind. They have experienced a drop in wind and may have to jibe all the way to Marseille.
Elena Caputo: "This morning we’ve been zigzagging looking for the breeze. We’ve blown our big gennaker. We’ve ripped it in two, horizontally. It’s quite a long rip. I don’t think we even have enough thread. "
"Congratulations to Club Med. It's over, The Race is finished. Club Med has won with all merits and on top of it all they could not have chosen a better time of arrival. Congratulations to all the crew and their team. And ... best wishes for your first night ashore."
"The reacher was problematic at the beginning because the material was defective, so we’ve been conservative in the reacher. We used the gennaker over 30 knots than it was made for, but all the repairs held. The rip that happened this morning was a horizontal cut. The wind wasn’t that strong. It could have been overuse. We’re going at 15 knots, not very fast at the moment."

Team Adventure, Entertainment Extreme - passing the Argentinian coast
Team Adventure is sailing upwind into a 15-knot north-northwesterly wind that should soon increase to 25 knots.
Those Fabulous Poles - played it smart
Warta-Polpharma recorded winds of 85 knots last night, they dove for shelter behind two islands of Tierra del Fuego, Islas Lennox and Nueva, under bare Poles.
By sticking to a long west tack to leeward of the Falkland Islands, they can avoid the swell generated by the 30 knot north-east winds which may worsen with a 55-knot driven low pressure. Once far enough west they will beat back eastward back onto the race line.

Team Legato - 'the Survivor's' - Finally some wind
Team Legato has picked up a 30/35 northwesterly granting over 20 knots of speed that should take them all the way to Cape Horn.
Fred Dahirel: "We are just at the edge of a low pressure system but it is not the one we were hoping for. It’s good to pick up some wind, though. It is a bit tight with just three men on deck for sail changes. The helmsman has to chip in and hold some sheets too! There’s no doubt that we have made some mistakes with the route that we have followed, but we feel that the boat is sound and has the potential to sail fast when we find some wind. We are going to try to reach a 30/35-knot northwesterly flow that should carry us all the way to the Horn."
