Team Adventure projected finish:
Team Adventure, Entertainment Extreme - approaching the Cape Verde Islands
Team Adventure is heading north-west, beating upwind in the northeast tradewinds. They will have two more days of these conditions before they can tack over towards the Straits of Gibraltar. They have done 335 miles in the past 24 hours.
Jean-Yves Bernot: "To sleep in these conditions, you really have to be exhausted. Otherwise, you don’t sleep at all."
Lewis: "We have been passing through squall lines all day. This is typical doldrums weather with warm, puffy squalls bringing an increase in wind to 26 knots, then lulls with only five knots of breeze."
"It is warm, humid, wet and now bumpy as we have had to sheet in once again and go upwind. All this after a great speed run yesterday. Oh well, we knew it was coming and, once again, we can be envious of the much more idyllic weather our two sisterships had."
"The northeast trades are here to stay. We have snuck through the narrow doldrums band of weather with very little slow sailing. This was a big relief when thinking back to how hard it was to punch through on our way south."
Warta Polpharma projected finish:
Those Fabulous Poles - in the southeast trades. Enough food to finish?
Warta-Polpharma is now only 770 miles off the equator and at this rate she will cross the line in little more than two days. They have covered the most distance for the day, 412 miles in the past 24 hours.

Team Legato projected finish:
Team Legato - 'the Survivor's' - making good progress
Team Legato is in more manageable northeasterly winds and now making good progress up the coast of Argentina. They are heading due east around the edge of a developing high pressure system building up off the Rio de la Plata, an enormous river estuary between Argentina and Uruguay.
Team Legato must now try to negotiate the St Helena high pressure zone without slowing down too much and pick up the easterly winds of the southeast trades.
Fred Dahirel: "Since we’re not going fast at the moment, we are making the most of the beauty of the region and the superb weather conditions. We are in a place that we love - the ocean!"
Team Legato must finish in 20 days - before 20:56 GMT on Monday 2 April. She has covered 322 miles in the last 24 hours, and now has 2 days advantage over the deadline.

Mir Space Station crashing to earth!
Remember there had been talk about Mir coming down on Team Adventure (mentioned in Cam Grams) and then on Team Legato? Well it will likely fall to the Pacific Ocean, projected between New Zealand and Cape Horn, closer to Cape Horn. Portions of it will burn up, however 40 tons of material will hit the sea, some at speeds high enough to smash through two metres (6.5 feet) of concrete. Expected burn up day is March 22.
