Team Adventure projected finish:

Team Adventure, Entertainment Extreme - level with the Cape Verde Islands
Team Adventure is heading north-west, beating upwind in the 20-25 knots northeast tradewinds. They will have two more days of these conditions before they can tack over towards the Straits of Gibraltar. They are level with the Cape Verde Islands, some 400 miles away.

Larry Rosenfeld: "We are still falling foul of the northeasterly winds that are stopping us from heading in the right direction. There may be some improvement on Saturday but we have to be careful, because the boat has a strange motion in these conditions. The bows bury a lot and the impacts are often very violent. We have to take a certain number of precautions to avoid cracking our heads open."

Warta Polpharma projected finish:

Those Fabulous Poles - approaching the equator
Warta-Polpharma will reach the equator by noon GMT Friday. The doldrums should prove 'non-toxic' for them, as it was for Team Adventure. They are having additional satellite problems, this time with the antenna.

Roman Paszke: "we are making progress at 12 knots in light airs, and we're keeping our eyes on a huge anticyclone that could risk complicating life on the haul back to Gibraltar."

Team Legato projected finish:

Team Legato - 'the Survivor's' - in the St Helena's High
With no room to negotiate in daily mileage, Team Legato did not need the high off of Buenos Aires, Argentina that is moving to the east, and blocking the way to the southeasterly trade winds. And, in the coming hours, winds are predicted at 5/10 knots.

Team Legato must finish in 19 days - before 20:56 GMT on Monday 2 April. She has covered 216 miles in the last 24 hours, nowhere near the 322 miles needed daily.

As of yesterday they had 2 days (644 miles) advantage over the deadline.
As of today they are down to 538 miles advantage over the deadline.

Team Legato is the biggest news in The Race. Will they finish in time? Will the race committee give them another extension? Certainly Team Legato has contributed to the Race itself. Since this event is the first time in its existence, will there be any more leeway?
