Team Adventure projected finish:
Team Adventure, Entertainment Extreme - Marselle at 9 AM GMT Saturday
The French port of Marseille is gearing itself up to greet the third finisher in The Race.
Co-skipper Larry Rosenfeld: "We’re gybing downwind on a 35-degree true bearing towards Marseille. It will take us to the morning to reach there. We’re out of wine, so we need to finish. It is the completion of a dream for Cam [Lewis] and me."
Warta Polpharma projected finish:
Those Fabulous Poles - in Fortaleza undergoing repairs
Warta Polpharma is undergoing repairs to her damaged port hull. Darius Drapella reported they have been hampered by delays and bureaucracy, and they will have to decide whether to wait for a replacement mainsail car.
If they hang on for it, they risk letting Tony Bullimore open out a lead which would be difficult to close up. The main job of relaminating te damaged area seems to have been completed successfully.
Darius Drapella: "The major crack is already filled up and all the grinding is finished. We will start the first laminating in 30 minutes' time. It will take at least until 18:00 local time."
"If it is possible within 48 hours of our arrival time, we could be able to leave, but there is another factor as well. We are urgently waiting for the traveler for the mainsheet car, the car for the aft crossbeam. It is being shipped, but the problem we have is how to overcome the horrible bureaucrats in Brazil."
"Yesterday, I spent at least six hours having a taxi on standby to get clearance for our arrival. It was a miracle I have got clearance for our departure already. When the boat is technically ready, there will be no official obstacles to let us go."
"If we want to get this car fitted, the earliest arrival time for it is tomorrow morning. We will have to discuss with Roman [Paszke, skipper] what to do."
Darius Drapella regarding Team Legato: "I hope it will be exciting sailing with two boats of similar size."
