Team Legato projected finish:

Team Legato - 'the Survivors' - 250 miles from Las Palmas in 25 knot headwinds
The temporary repair on the base of the damaged wing mast is holding. It has been further reinforced with plywood cut from floorboards.

The repairs in Las Palmas will consist of lifting the mast up, fitting a new ball joint on the main beam (assuming makers Carbospars can get the necessary part transported in time) and leave as soon as possible. However they are delayed in arriving by a day due to strong 25 knot headwinds that they must endure with a non-rotating mast.

Barry Pickthall, team manager: "If all goes well, we expect to get them back out to sea within eight to 12 hours. Then they should be able to reach Gibraltar by Sunday and finish in Marseille on Tuesday or Wednesday 10-11 April."

Bullimore: "When is this bad luck going to end?" Bullimore asked on Tuesday. We've had the winds on the nose for the best part of the last 5,000 miles. We are pretty fed up with it. We just have to keep pointing as high as possible. We would hope to get to Las Palmas by Wednesday afternoon or evening."

Warta Polpharma projected finish:

Those Fabulous Poles - Gibraltar by Sunday

Polpharma is now heading north-east towards Gibraltar, as they are on a more direct route, their distance to finish is dropping rapidly. They have gained 133 miles on Team Legato, partly because of Team Legato's fighting headwinds and not heading towards Gibraltar.

Paszke to Team Legato: "Honestly, we are very sorry. We had hoped it would be an interesting race without any more breakdowns, but life is writing the scenarios for this Race. I hope you will manage to repair everything fast and we will cross the finish line close to each other."
