EYC fall relocation of dinghies and cats, October 16, 2004 - 9 AM |
|
|
For the fall relocation of dinghies and cats, here is our schedule:
Saturday, October 16th - we especially need to move the boats that are closest to the beach along the breakwall, as well as the boats that are in the row south of the breakwall row.
==> This is so that cradles can be put in place in advance of haulout, 20 cradles will go into place October 16th.
To make this happen we will need to get boats on trailers and start positioning boats near the fence. This means everyone must get involved. I would strongly recommend everyone be there, to look after your own boat. The work party will start at 9 AM, and we should be finished around noon.
Please let me know if you will be there, and I promise to make home made baileys to go in the coffee... ok, ok, .... and homemade cookies.
*smile*, Karen-Ann
FYI - Mast lift days are October 16/17 and October 23/24. Haul out is October 30/31. We do not have access to the drysail area during haulout.
Weather looks cloudy but ok

2004 Ben Hur Open Regatta - Sept. 25/26, 2004 |
|
|
Take a step across the Line of Death. Race or die at the Ben Hur Open. Winner takes the coveted Kaddafi Cup. Leave behind all notions of civilization and polite society. The laws of Canada and common sense are not applicable. This is a hull-borne homicide, watery wickedness, and peril galore. Kiss transom, sucker. This is a savage apocalypse, a brutal Darwinian selection of the King of the Cats. The watery arena of speed awaits.
RULES
- All boats must have two hulls, at least at the start
- No large calibre handguns
- No flaming arrows
- No sissles
"Speed provides the only one genuinly modern pleasure" Aldous Huxley
“Today is a good day to die” Klingon proverb
Weather looks great!!

2001 Quebec Provincial Championships |
|
Amqui, February 13, 2001
To all those bitten by CATAMARANS
Hello to all,
Take off your tuques and mittens for a couple of minutes and think about your catamaran that is sleeping underneath the snow or in some dark, gloomy and cold spot.
It is already time to think about planning the upcoming season and to write into your daytimer the 2001 Quebec Provinicial Championships that will be held next 11-12 August, at Lac Matapédia, at the Val-Brillant marina.
Our organizing committee is already working hard to organize a first class event for which we would like the participation of the greatest number of sailors possible. This is why, because of the extra kilometers to travel to join us we have sent out this invitation early so that you can shuffle your vacation schedule. You will enjoy sailing in one of the best sailing areas in Quebec and maybe sieze the opportunity to visit some beautiful areas of Bas-St-Laurent, Gaspésie and la Baie-des-Chaleurs.
We are sending you this announcement using incomplete address lists so please do not hesitate to contact your sailing friends to inform them of this activity and even better, send us their coordinates; we will be more than happy to contact them and keep them updated with the newest developments.
Once we have more information available (registration, accomodations, activities, etc) we will keep you informed. For those of you who have received this announcement by conventional mail and who prefer e-mail, please send us your e-mail address to facilitate the communication of the upcoming event.
Do not hesitate to contact us for any questions or comments.
Fair winds,
Dominique Robichaud & Diane Côté

Toronto Olympic Bid 2008 Public meeting Feb 21, 2001 |
|
|
John Miolla, OHSF Commodore, has just confirmed that the Neighbourhood Working Group meeting which will deal with sailing and recreational sports in the Outer Harbour, has been confirmed for:
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 21ST - 7 PM. SHARP!
LOCATION: YMCA - 20 Grosvenor Street (two blocks north of Yonge and College, just west off Yonge on the north side of Grosvenor. Go upstairs to the large auditorium.
This will be one of the most important meetings for the sailing community and it is vitally important that there be a good turnout of sailors from the Outer Harbour clubs. Come early so that you get a seat and don't miss anything. They always ask everyone to introduce themselves at the beginning of the meeting so that we all have an idea as to who is in attendance. It is important that the Olympic BID people see how many we are and that we really care about our clubs.
