ORCA Annual Perpetual Awards
Initiated in 2002, we present annually at the Ben Hur Performance Regatta 4 awards to worthy members of our Canadian Ontario Catamaran Sailing Community.
The person doesn't have to be the person who won the most races, but rather someone who either improved the most, is enthusiastic, contributed the most to the fleet and ORCA or in some other way distinguished themselves.
The Sportsperson of the year is in recognition for the individuals contribution to catamaran sailing and our sailors in their area and in general. This person should be an inspiration to their fellow sailors and motivational. Fleet building and event organization are also good criteria.
Awards are presented at the Ben Hur Performance Regatta, this is the last ORCA regatta of the season. Votes are tallied for:
- Skipper of the year
- Tactician (crew) of the year
- Sportsperson of the year
- Youth Sailor of the year
