05/17/2001 - Leg 11: cat-alist.com following Team Dinghy Shop
Leg 11: 10:25 AM - The start was at 10 AM, It is raining, the wind out of the northeast on the nose. We powered up the rig a bit more than yesterday. They are off to Cape Hatteras, the graveyard of the Atlantic.
Leg 11 -Atlantic Beach, NC to Cape Hatteras, NC- 81.3 statute miles.
Estimated arrival time: 3-6 PM.

The start was at 10 AM, It is raining, the wind out of the northeast on the nose. We powered up the rig a bit more than yesterday. I was the pusher today. Kevin hurt his back lifting the boat this morning. The boat is healthy.
It is now a tear ass run to the ferry, one to Ocra Coke Island, and the other on to Hatteras. It is about a 6 hour travel time. It is all we can do to make the ferry after the start, the ferry loads at 11 AM. I am with Zack Leonard today, he got to go helicoperting yesterday, which he loved. Now it is on his Christmas List.
Sandra Tartaglino is riding the helicopter today.
