Leg 2 Results - shows results for the day and overall.
40 minutes after the start, from Mike Walker, Team Manager
The winds are 25 knots from the northeast, 3 to 6 feet swells. It is 82 degrees, hot and humid.
3 to 4 boats dumped on the start in the surf. Team Dinghy Shop has now moved from 14th position to 13th position. Katie and Eleanor of Pyacht Women just got righted after a 1/2 hr dump.
*** Tom Weaver is out. Broke his foot in 2 places. This occured when they were bringing the boat to the beach.
8:30 AM Boat crew meets with ground crew to review the previous days repair list and changes that need to be made to the boat.
9:00 AM Team Manager meeting, Ground crews moves boat to start position, takes sails to the boat, and starts setting up the boat. Boat crew starts to get dressed
9:30 Boat crew shows up at boat, and also have a large snack. The boat crew has to ensure that they keep their food intake up. If they get to the point that they are hungry, they are in trouble and will run out of energy.
10:00 AM - Start
10:10 AM - Shore crew carries the cat tracks back to the trailer, empties out all the hotel rooms, load vehicles and get on the road by 11AM
Shore crew has lunch, does washing, shopping and other errands.
Mid Afternoon or later: Shore crew arrives at next finish. Stand in line for hotel room with all the other teams.
Boat crew arrives. Make checklist of boat problems with boat. Get the boat team to the hotel for a shower and more food.
Do boat repairs, which may keep us up till sunset. This may happen a number of times during the race.
9:00 PM Dinner
Bed
7:30 AM - start over :-)
