11:43 PM: Mike Walker, Team Manager - Dinghy Shop:
If you have been following the web pages (http://www.worrell1000.com and http://www.cat-alist.com) you will have already read that all the teams that did not race yesterday where awarded a 2 hour penalty on top of the longest time for the last finisher yesterday. This turned out to be just over 9 hours.

Today's start was into a smaller, but still dangerous surf. What made today more complicated was the lack of wind and the fact that it was still almost square to the beach. What this means is that they have no power to drive through the large incoming waves.

Team Dinghy Shop delayed their start for about 45 seconds after the go time to wait for a set of waves that we could drive through. Reigh's surfing skills allowed him to read the waves and to make the correct decision. This has become very apparent over the last 2 days of sailing. All other boats also got through the surf, but it did take some of them a couple of tries. Walter Cooper did manage to get a number of amazing pictures from the Helicopter of Team Castrol being rolled by a large wave.

Once clear of the surf, the boats tacked and headed north around Cape Canaveral. Most of the time, they where single trapped, as the winds where less than 10 knots. Some teams even managed to get their chutes up. Team Dinghy Shop's hasn't even been out of the tramp bag yet.

As Reigh approaches the finish, he normally calls me to see what the surf is like (either via VHF or Cell phone). From the beach, it didn't look too bad, until I watch Team Alexander come into it and almost disappear from view. The problem was that the wind was way down, and this made driving the boat difficult. But, Reigh and Scott did a great job bringing the Intra 20 into a 5th place finish.

We are now in 3rd place overall, just 10 minutes behind 2nd place. Tomorrow, we travel to Jacksonville FL. The Map shows the route that is programmed into the GPS (the pink part), and the White trail is the course. We are only able to catch about half the trip as GPS only hold 250 track points.

4:34 PM EST: Mike Walker, Team Manager:
they are in 5th place, at the surf line now, just negotiating. It is gnarly, but it is manageable. They have the the boards up already. They are looking for a spot to come in. The wind is going light, and he has to get in while the wind is light behind him.

He is committing to the surf now. All we can see is from the numbers up due to the spray. He is in the biggest surf, he is in, gotta run.

9 AM EST Mike Walker, Team Manager:
There is surf, but not much wind, so it may not be enough wind to power through the surf. More news soon.
