05/10/2001 - Leg 5 PM: cat-alist.com following Team Dinghy Shop

It is 38 miles to the finish, they are sitting in 8th place, maybe 15 to 20 minutes out of first place. The wind has freshened. Looks like it is maybe 15 knots of of the northeast. Team Dinghy Shop Arrives in 7th Place.
Leg 5 PM - Daytona Beach, FL to Jacksonville Beach, FL - 79.0 mi statute miles.
Estimated arrival time is 4 to 6 PM.

2:41 PM: Mike Walker, Team Manager

It is 38 miles to the finish, they are sitting in 8th place, maybe 15 to 20 minutes out of first place.

The wind has freshened. Looks like it is maybe 15 knots of of the northeast.

Not sure if they are running downwind or trying to climb upwind but we just had a look from the beach.

Mike Walker at 3:47 PM: "Ok, I'm on top of the St. Augustine Lighthouse. I've got Alexander in the lead, I've got Guidant second, I've got a third boat which I can't identify and I have Tommy Bahama in 4th approaching the beaches of St. Augustine. Now we're looking at one, two, three, four, five, six, seven now it looks like Team Dinghy is in seventh at the moment, or maybe 6th, it is hard to tell from maybe 5 miles away."

"They probably won't be at the finish til 6:30 PM."

7:35 PM: Team Dinghy Shop arrived at 6:59:06 PM in 7th place, 22 minutes after the leader, Alexander's on the Bay.

Teams Redhook Ale, PI Sailing, Australia and Outer Banks have not arrived as yet.
